Determining whether the person you're talking to is real or simply posing may be a little difficult when you only rely on photos she's sending you. Here are some basic tips on how to spot a fake or genuine chat mate.

1. Ask her to show herself on camera.

It's probably the easiest way to spot a poser from a real lady chat mate. But you shouldn't let your guard down yet! Everything doesn't end there just because she has show herself. You need to check on her intention and whether they'd be genuine or not. It's true that some girls are as desperate as you are to find some love even online and we can't just generalize anyone. However, it is advised that you keep yourself alert for any possible signs of scamming schemes and tactics.

2. Ask her to add you on Facebook

It looks like everyone's trying to keep their acquaintances and friends in just one social networking place, Facebook. Ask your chat mate to add you in the said social networking site and see the people she's in contact with. If you get lucky and she's a little active in the said site, you will also get to see her older photos and how people perceive her. Please take note that it will not give you an assurance that she really is whom she claims to be as Facebook and other social networking sites are also often used in scamming activities.

3. Ask your chat mate for her number

Call her or send her a message so you will have a better idea of how she sounds and whether she would be consistent with her claims while you talk to her. Most people who are lying would most likely get caught once they're talking to you whether over the phone or face to face. Well others may still be very good in lying especially when you still can't see their faces as their speak but it's much easier to spot a liar once she speaks more than when she writes.

So before letting your guard down and falling in love with such a too-good-to-be-true lass you met online, be sure to determine whether she really loves you or your money.
